Hire warehouse workers in Gothenburg

Quick answer

Talea Work AB supplies warehouse workers to logistics centres, third-party warehouses, e-commerce operations and wholesalers across the Gothenburg region. The people are employed by Talea on the staffing collective agreement, so wages, pension and insurance sit with us while your supervisors run the work. Typical tasks are unloading, goods receipt with a handheld scanner, putaway, picking, packing, returns and loading outbound trucks. Forklift training is checked against the truck types you use, and you issue the written operating authorisation. Pickers, packers and goods receivers are often in place within 2–3 days, and a quote follows the same day on +46 70 090 10 52.

Call 070-090 10 52 or email kontakt@talea.se for a quote the same day.

What the job covers in a Gothenburg warehouse

A warehouse worker is rarely doing one job. In a single shift the same person may break down inbound pallets at the dock, compare cartons with the delivery note, log transport damage, book goods into your warehouse management system and move them to a pallet location. Later the work shifts to replenishing pick faces, picking orders into roll cages or boxes, packing and labelling, and staging outbound goods for the right carrier and cut-off time. Returns handling often comes on top, and in e-commerce it can become the main task for weeks after a campaign. Because the mix varies so much, a job title tells us little. What helps is knowing roughly how many order lines or parcels move on a normal day, which system and scanners you use, whether you run days only or two shifts, and whether a forklift is part of the role.

Gothenburg is a logistics city before anything else. Scandinavia's largest port sits at the mouth of the Göta älv, and much of the warehousing that serves it lies on Hisingen, in areas such as Arendal, Sörred, Hisings Backa and Bäckebol, with further clusters in Mölndal and Åbro, Partille, Kungälv, Ale and near Landvetter airport. Our own office on Hisingen is close to many of these sites. Assignments tend to come in familiar shapes: a pre-Christmas peak, a shift team suddenly short because of illness, a warehouse relocating and needing every item re-slotted, or a third-party operator taking on a new client at short notice. Some last a week, others several months. If what you describe sounds like a permanent position rather than a peak, we say so and suggest a recruitment instead.

Forklifts, dangerous goods and safety gear

Many warehouse roles include driving a counterbalance truck, reach truck or order picker, and this is where new starts most often stall on day one. The Swedish Work Environment Authority's provisions on work equipment, AFS 2023:11, require a written operating authorisation before anyone drives a truck at work. When staff are hired in, it is you, the company directing the work, that issues that authorisation for your trucks and your site. Our part is to check that the employee has documented training, usually according to the TLP10 industry standard, for the truck categories you actually use, and to send you the paperwork before the first shift. The authorisation can then be signed during the induction instead of the new worker standing idle while someone hunts for a form. If the role involves no truck driving, none of this applies.

Some assignments add further requirements. Anyone taking part in handling dangerous goods needs training under section 1.3 of the ADR regulations, and chilled or frozen areas call for clothing suited to the temperature. Our employees arrive with safety shoes and a high-visibility vest; tell us in advance if you require hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves or anything else, and who provides it. We also compare language skills with the way your safety instructions and system screens are written. The division of responsibility is simple. You lead the work on the warehouse floor and are responsible for the work environment, which covers the induction, the risk assessment for the tasks and site-specific protective equipment. Talea remains the employer and handles the contract, wages, holiday pay, sick leave and regular follow-up with the employee for as long as the assignment runs.

From first call to first shift

An employee for a common warehouse role often starts within 2–3 days of your first call, sometimes sooner if someone suitable has just finished an assignment. Larger groups need a little more planning. If you want eight people for a seasonal peak, a call a few weeks ahead lets us put together a team, arrange a joint induction with you and match shift times to how each person travels. Narrower profiles, such as experienced reach truck drivers for very high racking or someone who already knows a particular warehouse system, can take longer, and you will hear that on the first call. The most useful brief includes the address, shift pattern, tasks, truck types, expected duration and a named contact for the first morning. Say which requirements are absolute and which are simply nice to have.

You pay for the hours you approve, and there is no start-up fee. The hourly rate is set for the role rather than taken from a list, since plain picking and packing, forklift work in narrow aisles and a combined role with system responsibility are priced differently, as are night shifts and weekend work. The length of the assignment also affects it. The rate includes the employee's wage, holiday pay, employer social contributions, occupational pension and the insurance required by the collective agreement. When the peak is over, the assignment ends with the notice set out in the customer agreement, so you are not left with staff you have no work for. If you want to keep someone, Swedish law does not let us stop our employee from moving to your payroll, and the terms for that are agreed from the start.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a warehouse worker in Gothenburg?

Talea has no fixed price list for warehouse staff. The hourly rate reflects the tasks, forklift or other qualifications, shift times and how long you need the person. Wages and holiday pay are included, as are employer contributions, pension and the agreement's insurance cover. Getting started costs nothing, and you are invoiced for approved hours only. Call +46 70 090 10 52 with the role, address and period, and the quote arrives the same day.

Do your warehouse workers have forklift licences?

Those who will drive trucks for you have documented training, normally to the TLP10 standard, for the truck types the assignment involves, and we check it before they start. The written operating authorisation required under AFS 2023:11 is issued by your company as the one directing the work, and it applies to your trucks and your site. Roles without truck driving do not need it.

How fast can you provide warehouse staff in Gothenburg?

Often within 2–3 days for common roles such as pickers, packers and goods receivers, provided an employee with the right qualifications is available. Groups of several people and specialised truck work need more notice. Call early in the day and you get an honest answer on timing before evening, not a promise that falls apart on Monday morning.

Can we get extra warehouse staff for Black Friday and Christmas?

Yes, seasonal peaks are one of the most common reasons clients call us. Get in touch as soon as you have a rough volume forecast, preferably several weeks ahead, because many warehouses in the region scale up at the same time. Tell us the number of people, shift times and period, and we plan the team and a shared induction with you.

Who is the employer of a hired-in warehouse worker?

Talea Work AB. The employee has an employment contract with us under the staffing collective agreement, and we pay wages, pension and insurance and handle sick leave. Your company directs the daily work and is responsible for the work environment in the warehouse, including the induction, the risk assessment and any site-specific protective equipment.
