Hire construction workers in Gothenburg
Quick answer
Talea Work AB hires out carpenters, construction labourers and demolition workers to builders, renovation firms and groundworks contractors in the Gothenburg region. All of them are employed by Talea under a collective agreement, and everyone we send onto a site holds an ID06 card and is recorded in the site's electronic personnel ledger. Your site management directs the work and carries the work environment responsibility on site, while Talea handles wages, insurance and the employer role. Qualifications such as hot work, fall protection or scaffolding training are checked against the job before the start. Common site roles are usually filled within 2–3 days; phone +46 70 090 10 52.

Carpenters, labourers and demolition crews
The carpenters we hire out step into a site that is already running and take over part of the programme. On new residential projects that usually means the fit-out stage: stud walls and suspended ceilings, door frames and internal doors, kitchen and wardrobe installation, skirting and architraves. In renovation of older Gothenburg housing, in districts such as Majorna, Kungsladugård and Linnéstaden, walls are rarely straight and earlier solutions have to be read on site before anything is cut. Outdoors it can be cladding, battens, decking or roof work. We ask which stage you are at rather than which title you need, because a carpenter who excels at visible finishing details is not always the one who wants to raise timber frames in November rain. Our employees have also worked on roof replacements in Gothenburg and Vänersborg and on property renovation in Kållered.
Construction labourers keep a site moving by carrying materials to the floors, receiving deliveries, stripping formwork, clearing up between trades and sorting waste into the right containers. On groundworks they work alongside machine operators, for example next to an excavator, digging by hand, clearing trench edges and backfilling. Demolition staff strip out interiors, take down non-load-bearing walls, remove flooring and ceilings and load out material in the fractions your waste plan requires. Talea employees have done this on demolition and renovation jobs, groundworks on an industrial site, joint milling in Borås, scaffolding and jetty building. Where a building may contain asbestos, PCB or other hazardous materials, those materials should be identified before demolition starts. Asbestos removal is regulated separately, with requirements for a permit from the Swedish Work Environment Authority and for specific training, so tell us early what the survey shows.
ID06, the personnel ledger and site qualifications
Nobody goes onto a Swedish construction site from us without ID06. The card links the person to their employer, which on a hired-in assignment is Talea, and most main contractors require it by contract before anyone passes the gate. It is also how people normally check in to the electronic personnel ledger (personalliggare). The developer must provide ledger equipment wherever the total cost of the building work is expected to exceed four price base amounts, and each contractor keeps the ledger for the people working in its part of the job. Hired-in staff are recorded by the contractor they work for, exactly as if they were its own employees, so on your site our employees check in under your company. Settle before day one how that is set up. In our experience the ledger stays correct when the site's routine is explained at the induction and the card is used at every start and end of work. The Swedish Tax Agency visits sites without notice, and an incomplete ledger is a cost nobody wants.
Beyond ID06 we match the qualifications the job actually requires. Welding, cutting, grinding or using an open flame at a temporary workplace normally calls for a Heta Arbeten hot work certificate, a demand that comes from insurance terms, and each certificate is valid for five years. Work at height calls for documented fall protection training, mobile elevating work platforms for lift training, and scaffolding for training that fits the type of scaffold. Work on or beside roads usually calls for documented Arbete på väg competence, which the Swedish Transport Administration requires on its own road projects and other road owners commonly ask for too. Dust is a separate concern on renovation and demolition jobs, since breaking and grinding concrete releases quartz dust that calls for extraction, respiratory protection and hearing protection. We ask directly about experience of that kind of work. If a certificate is missing, you hear about it before the start date rather than at the gate on the first morning.
Project stages, lead times and pricing
Construction needs come in stages, and hiring in follows them. A frame phase may need extra labourers for stripping formwork, the fit-out stage more carpenters, and handover a crew for final clean-up and snagging. We add people as the next phase approaches and reduce the team when it is done, so you avoid taking on permanent staff for a peak that lasts six weeks. For common roles, such as labourers and carpenters with broad experience, the normal time from call to first working day is 2–3 days, sometimes faster. Specialist carpenters, for example those used to a particular supplier's system or to culturally protected buildings, and teams of five or more take longer to put together, and we tell you that on the first call. The quickest route is a short brief with the address, stage, working hours, expected duration and any qualification that is non-negotiable.
On site, your site manager or foreman directs our employees, gives the site induction and provides the protective measures that belong to the site, just as for your own crew. Coordinating the work environment across the project also stays with you. Talea is the employer, pays wages under the collective agreement along with pension and insurance, and is responsible for rehabilitation if someone is injured or falls ill. The equal treatment rules of the Swedish Temporary Agency Work Act apply to our employees, and the collective agreement we follow sets out how their pay and conditions are determined. We do not work from a price list. The hourly rate depends on the role and stage, required certificates, working hours and how many weeks the job runs. Wages, holiday pay, employer contributions, pension and agreement insurance are all built in, nothing is charged for getting started, and invoices follow the hours your foreman approves.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hire a carpenter or construction labourer in Gothenburg?
The hourly rate is set per assignment and depends on the role, the project stage, certificates such as hot work or scaffolding, working hours and duration. It includes wages, holiday pay, employer contributions, pension and the insurance required by the agreement. Starting is free of charge, and only approved hours are billed. Describe the job on +46 70 090 10 52 and get a quote the same day.
Do your construction workers have ID06 cards?
Yes. Every Talea employee who works on a construction site has a valid ID06 card linked to Talea as employer. In the site's electronic personnel ledger they are recorded by the contractor they work for, which on a hired-in assignment is your company, so agree the check-in routine with us before the start. Other qualifications, such as hot work, fall protection, lift or scaffolding training, are checked against what your particular job requires.
Can you supply demolition workers in Gothenburg?
Yes. Our employees strip out interiors, take down non-load-bearing walls, remove floors and ceilings and load out waste sorted by fraction. Asbestos removal is a separate matter with its own permit and training requirements, so share the hazardous materials survey before the start. We then tell you plainly which parts of the job our employees can take on.
How fast can a carpenter start on our site in Gothenburg?
A carpenter or labourer for common tasks is often on site within 2–3 days of your call, provided we know the stage, address and working hours. Specialist experience and larger teams take longer. Call in the morning and you get an answer the same day on what we can arrange and from which date.
Can we employ the carpenter ourselves after the project?
Yes. Swedish law prevents a staffing company from stopping its employee from taking a job with the client, and the terms for a transfer are written into our customer agreement from the outset. If you already know the role is permanent, our recruitment service may suit you better, since the person is then employed by your company from the first day.
